Calgary, AB (July 29, 2024) Livestock Water Recycling (LWR) and the University of Calgary's Sensor Lab are collaborating to redefine nutrient monitoring in agriculture with a novel nutrient sensor to replace labor-intensive, time-delayed lab methods with an automated real-time system. This 3.5-year project is supported by a $1.7 M investment by LWR and Alberta Innovates. Utilizing a $500,000 grant from Alberta Innovates' Agri-Food and Bio-Industrial Innovation Program (ABIP), this project is expected to revolutionize nutrient management practices.

LWR distributor, Figure 8 Environmental has secured funding for four dairies through the California Department of Food and Agriculture’s Office of Environmental Farming and Innovation’s Alternate Manure Management and Dairy Plus Programs.

Bakersfield, California (Feb 13, 2024) - Four California dairy farms have been selected to receive funding for innovative manure treatment projects aimed at improving environmental sustainability and operational efficiency. Among the recipients are Richmar Farms in Kern County, two DaSilva dairy farms both located in San Joaquin County, and Pete Postma & Sons Dairy in Stanislaus County. These farms represent over 7,500 cattle and combine to produce approximately 416,100,000 gallons of manure annually.
